- more在以下情況可以用於單音節形容詞前:①more後接than結搆作表語表示同一人或事物的兩種特性對比; ②後接than結搆作賓語補足語或表語,表示前後兩種情況對比; ③作具有描寫或強調意義的後置定語; ④以兩個輔音字母結尾的單音節形容詞; ⑤需要強調的形容詞; ⑥與多音節形容詞竝列使用的形容詞; ⑦fond, right等或由過去分詞變來的形容詞時,可用於單音節形容詞之前; ⑧用在the more..., the more...結搆中。
