1. CONJ You use or to link two or more alternatives. 或者
"Tea or coffee?" John asked. “喝茶還是喝咖啡？” 約翰問。
He said he would try to write or call as soon as he reached the Canary Islands. 他說他一到加那利群島就會盡快寫信或打電話過來。
2. CONJ You use or to give another alternative, when the first alternative is introduced by "either" or "whether." 還是 (與either或whether連用)
Items like bread, milk and meat were either unavailable or could be obtained only on the black market. 像麪包、牛嬭和肉這樣的食品要麽沒有，要麽衹有從黑市才能買到。
